1-25-21: We have been working on new material remotely, sharing music files across the web with one another. In the interim, we will share some live material with you periodically, recorded outdoors, in a safe and physically distant setting, on a couple nice days in October and November of 2020. Josh Munter 1973-2018: Our dear friend and former bass player, Josh Munter, died on January 17, 2018 at the age of 44. Josh, a founding member of Floydian Slip who played with the band from 1999-2006 and from 2008-2010, helped establish the band as a "progressive-aggressive jamband", a term he himself coined. His bone-shaking bass lines and extraordinary improvisational sense were a big part of the band's early sound and are evident on the two studio releases he helped create, 2001's "Field Trip" and the 2006 album "Be Curious". Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends. "A Box of Rain will ease the pain and love will see you through..."-R. Hunter

Basic Tracks Completed
5-6-16: The final 11 songs have been selected for the new release, due out later this summer. The band has finished the basic tracks and is continuing to work in the studio on a few overdubs and vocal tracks. "I like the live energy we captured in the studio cutting the basic tracks, so I want to do as little guitar overdubs as possible", remarked guitarist Andy Noyes. "I'm happy with most of my solos." The band has never been much concerned with perfection, attempting instead to focus on getting the feel of the song and being true to the groove. "Let the music play the band" they often say.
Look for a release party later this summer.

New Release Soon (first since 2006)
4-11-16: Floydian Slip have been holed up in the studio most of the winter tracking songs for their upcoming release. The boys have been working on 23 songs and have it narrowed down to 11 or 12 that made the cut. "Since we are recording in our own studio and doing all the work ourselves, we wanted to take our time and get it right," says Olaf. The process started with identifying songs back in the fall, doing demo versions for listening and learning, reworking the arrangements, and then beginning the recording of the final basic tracks, which did not start until February. The result hopes to be an accurate representation of where the band is at this point in time, with tight grooves, conscious lyrics, and extended jams. Look for a release date of sometime this summer. Stay tuned...
